Review: Ice Princess

Director: Tim Fywell

Starring: Michelle Trachtenberg, Joan Cusack, Trevor Blumas

Year: 2005

Genre: Romance/Comedy

Rated: G

Length: 98 min.

IMDB Summary: With the help of her coach, her parents, and the boy who drives the Zamboni machine, nothing can stop Casey from realizing her dream to be a champion figure skater.

Review:
Let's be honest: if you're a figure skater, you may enjoy this film. If not, then all bets are off. Fortunately, I have a background in figure skating and was able to enjoy the ice skating theme enough to forgive the film its cheesy love plot and cardboard characters. Ice skaters may adore this flick, but if you can't get into a pair of skates, then you may want to think twice about Ice Princess.

For Parents:
There is a party situation, but teens appear to be drinking soda. A pretty harmless movie.
