Review: The Last Song

Director: Julie Anne Robinson

Starring: Miley Cyrus

Year: 2010

Genre: Romance

Rated: PG

Length: 107 min.

IMDB Summary: A drama centered on a rebellious girl who is sent to a Southern beach town for the summer to stay with her father. Through their mutual love of music, the estranged duo learn to reconnect.

Review:
What a waste of film. Cyrus is not a talented actress by any stretch and her character spends most of the movie treating her family like trash. And the cause for her transformation from a bratty child to a loving daughter? A boy, of course. This plot is so cliche and the acting is so terrible. The only redeeming value of the movie is Kinnear's performance as Cyrus' father--arguably the only decent acting in the whole movie Avoid if possible. If you must watch, then you've been forewarned.

For Parents:
Some kissing, a dangerous fire, a mild tussle with a man holding a crowbar

My Rating:
*
