Review: Men in Black

Director: Barry Sonnenfeld

Starring: Tommy Lee Jones, Will Smith

Year: 1997

Genre: Comedy

Rated: PG-13

Length: 98 min.

IMDB Summary: A streetwise NYPD detective joins a secret organization that polices extraterrestrial affairs on Earth.

Review:
I don't know which made me laugh more--Jones' straight-faced reactions to Smith's gags or the far-fetched hilarity of the plot--but Men in Black was a pleasure to watch. Sonnenfeld keeps the story moving, which contains parodies of spy and sci-fi films that are laughable, as well as lots of action, adventure and intrigue. While the animation--and puppets--clearly date this film, Men in Black remains a zany classic that is sure to be enjoyed over and over again.

For Parents:
Some language and sci-fi violence

My Rating:
****
