Review: P.S. I Love You

Director: Richard LaGravenese

Starring: Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler

Year: 2007

Genre: Romance

Rated: PG-13

Length: 125 min.

IMDB Summary: A young widow discovers that her late husband has left her 10 messages intended to help ease her pain and start a new life.

Review:
The acting is not great and the plot is pretty sappy. Perhaps Butler's wimpy Irish accent leaves the blackest mark on this film. Still, this chick flick is more powerful than most because of the themes of grief, loss and hope. With light comedy sprinkled throughout, P.S. I Love You takes a sentimental look at life and love. It's worth a watch if you don't mind the fluffy, chick-lit elements that form the foundation of its plot.

For Parents:
There is some sexual innuendo as well as a brief glimpse of a nude man.

My Rating:
***
