Review: A Walk To Remember

Director: Adam Shankman

Starring: Shane West, Mandy Moore

Year: 2002

Genre: Romance

Rated: PG

Length: 102 min.

IMDB Summary: The story of two North Carolina teens, Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan, who are thrown together after Landon gets into trouble and is made to do community service.

Review:
A cheesy plot with cliche characters, but I fear the Nicholas Sparks book is more to blame for this than the film adaption. West's character, the "bad boy" who more closely resembles an Aeropostale model than a juvenile delinquent, accounts for most of the movie's cheesiness. The shocker ending is so overdone that it comes off as sappy rather than genuinely heartbreaking. It may be worth a watch, but only because it's a PG-rated chick flick.

For Parents:
Some mild language and innuendo

My Rating:
**
