Review: Bolt

Director: Byron Howard, Chris Williams

Starring: John Travolta, Miley Cyrus, Susie Essman

Year: 2008

Genre: Family

Rated: PG

Length: 96 min.

IMDB Summary: The canine star of a fictional sci-fi/action show that believes his powers are real embarks on a cross country trek to save his co-star from a threat he believes is just as real.

Review:
Fun, adventurous and witty, Bolt is a thoroughly enjoyable watch for the whole family. The dialogue between characters is fast and funny, and Bolt's onscreen adventures are action-packed. Dramatic irony is also taken advantage of, as Bolt believes he actually has the powers that his onscreen character does, though viewers know he's just a normal dog. The character voices can get annoying, but at least this aspect of Bolt is countered with tasteful action, humor and wit. Loaded with laughs, Bolt is a superb film for viewers of all ages!

For Parents:
Mild action

My Rating:
****
