Review: High School Musical 2

Director: Kenny Ortega

Starring: Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale

Year: 2007

Genre: Family

Rated: G

Length: 104 min.

IMDB Summary: During the summer vacations a talent show is organized in a local country club and Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad and Taylor take part in it.

Review:
High School Musical 2 is a bit more stable in terms of plot than its predecessor, though the added emphasis on the musical numbers (to the point of Efron and Hudgens having lengthy solos) detracts a little from the movie's action, which (surprise!) revolves around the romance between Troy and Gabriella. The musical numbers seemed more "together" in High School Musical 2, making it more enjoyable than the previous installment of the series, but the majority of the plot still consists of teen drama, with a few undercooked subplots--consider yourselves forewarned.
