Review: High School Musical

Director: Kenny Ortega

Starring: Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale

Year: 2006

Genre: Family

Rated: G

Length: 98 min.

IMDB Summary: Troy and Gabriella - two teens who are worlds apart - meet at a karaoke contest and discover their mutual love for music.

Review:
If you can get over 98 minutes of high school drama (including girls swooning over supermodel-like Efron), then you just might enjoy High School Musical for its perky, upbeat pace and its lively musical numbers. Despite its flaws--which are many--this movie brings a clean, lighthearted teen romance to the big screen with singing and dancing numbers to spare. It may be worth a watch just for the cheesy--I mean, cheery--musical numbers.
